Romania vignette

I want a vignette for several cars at once

If you want to buy a vignette for more than one car at the same time, please contact us. It is not necessary to enter each registration mark separately – In your message, please list the registration marks you wish to register, the length of stay in the state(s) and the date of the start of validity.

Can I cancel or change my vignette if my travel plans change?

Typically, an electronic ticket is tied to a specific vehicle and time period and cannot be transferred or changed once activated. In the event of a data entry error or other exceptional situations, it is best to contact us as soon as possible

How to prove payment of a vignette

After purchasing the e-Vignette, the vehicle is automatically registered in the electronic system. Checks are carried out electronically on motorways and therefore no physical proof is required. However, it is advisable to carry a proof of purchase in case of a manual check.

What happens if I drive on a toll motorway without a valid vignette?

Driving on toll motorways without a valid vignette can lead to fines. The amount of the fine may vary and can be collected on the spot or sent by post to the vehicle owner’s address. It is strongly recommended to always have a valid vignette before entering a toll motorway.

I made a mistake on the license plate number. Is it possible to change it?

If a mistake is made in entering the registration number when purchasing a vignette, no changes can be made to the details, including the registration number, once the vignette has started to be valid. So if a mistake is made, you need to buy a new vignette with the correct details. It is important to note that the original vignette, even if not used, will not be returned and no refund will be given.

    Weather in Romania

Romania has a varied climate, which varies according to region and season. The summer months (June to August) are warm and dry, with temperatures often exceeding 30°C, making it ideal for visiting the Black Sea coast. Winters (December to February) are cold, especially in mountainous areas such as the Carpathians, where temperatures can drop well below freezing and snow is common. Spring and autumn bring mild temperatures and frequent rainfall, creating pleasant conditions for hiking.

    Comparison with train connections

Travelling by car in Romania offers flexibility and the opportunity to stop at interesting places along the way, which is advantageous for tourists wishing to explore less accessible areas. On the other hand, train transport is often more convenient and affordable, especially on longer routes between major cities such as Bucharest, Cluj-Napoca and Timisoara. Romanian railways offer regular services and trains are equipped for a comfortable journey. For those who want to relax and avoid driving, train transport can be an ideal option.

    Comparison with airline connections

Air travel is the fastest option for long distances, such as going from Bucharest to Cluj-Napoca or Temesvár. The flight takes approximately one hour, which is significantly faster than travelling by car or train. However, when you take into account the time spent at the airport, security checks and transport to/from the airport, the total time can be comparable to a train journey. Air travel is usually more expensive but offers comfort and speed, which can be advantageous for business travellers or those with limited time.

    Summary

Travel in Romania can be tailored to your needs and preferences. The weather varies according to the season, from warm summer days to cold winters. Travelling by car provides flexibility and speed, while train transport offers convenience and lower costs. Air travel is fastest for long distances, but can be more expensive. The choice of means of transport depends on the passenger's preferences and the specific conditions of the journey.
